The Malayan Jezebel, Delias ninus ninus (Wallace)

Locally common in hill stations where they usually keep to a lofty height, resting on ferns and open spaces in between short flights. Both sexes come to flowers at lower heights in the first morning light.

They ressemble D. pasithoe on the undersides but its uppersides have a red basal area on the HW whilst those of D. pasithoe is only yellow. Above photos 12 June 2015 @ 11:10

Denizen of high elevation forests having the same habits of its lowland cousin the Striped Ringlet.

Orange Staff Sargeant, Athyma cama gynea (Swinhoe)

Rare denizen of pristine forest. Ressembles A. nefte in general appearances and is said to be more montane in habits. Can easily be distinguished by the orange tinged subapical spot in the male. The female is orange coloured.
